Pages, Shelvers: Whatever You Call Them, They’re Essential!

But, you may feel like you’re supervising a revolving door if you have the responsibility to hire, train, and evaluate them!  Pat Tunstall of Indian Trails Public Library searched in vain for a book on how to do it when she became manager of a 50 person building-wide Page Pool.  So she made a lot up as she went along and networked with as many other Page Supervisors as she could find.

And, once she moved into another position and caught her breath, she wrote the book on it. She’ll be sharing all she’s learned at Reaching Forward in a half day session, The ABC’s of Training Library Shelvers.
